On our family crest is "Catherine Wheels" symbolizing Saint Catherines torture, and our motto states, "We would be willing to be tortured and to die for our Christian belief."
Thomas Ashlock, is the first proven ancestor of the Ashlock Clan, from Suffolk, England. His grandson, John, a fishmonger in London, and the believed father of all American Ashlocks'. He endentured himself to Archibald Archer to secure passage to America for his freedom, and he landed in Virginia in 1683.
His grandsons fought together in the Revolutionary War, and one grandson, William, died in that war when he fought beside his sons. I dedicate this site to William for giving the ultimate sacrifice and paying for the price for our freedom.
